Decide whether to do your nails before or after arrival
Doing nails before the flight means the manicure is ready from day one. Booking after arrival can make sense if you want a local appointment or your pre-trip schedule is packed.
If you plan to book in Punta Cana, confirm the appointment and transportation before leaving your resort or rental.
Give yourself buffer before a wedding or photo session
If the nails are for a destination wedding, bachelorette event or formal photos, avoid putting the appointment immediately before the event. Travel delays and detailed nail art both need margin.
For groups, ask about appointment capacity early rather than assuming several people can be finished at once.
Pack a tiny nail emergency kit
A small file, hand cream or cuticle oil and a few adhesive bandages are enough for most minor vacation issues. Do not pack a full salon into your luggage unless you genuinely plan to do your own nails.
If a gel edge lifts, avoid peeling it off. Peeling can pull layers from the natural nail.
Beach and pool habits
Dry your hands after long water exposure and avoid using your nails to open cans, scrape labels or force luggage hardware.
Apply sunscreen to the backs of your hands too. The skin around the nails gets the same tropical sun exposure as the rest of your body.
Know when it is not a cosmetic problem
Pain, swelling, drainage, significant injury or unusual discoloration should not be covered with a new cosmetic service. Treat those as health concerns and seek appropriate care when needed.
For a simple chip, design question or appointment request, send Masiel a message and include a clear photo if it helps explain the issue.
